Special Services and Prayer Requests (Trebes)

Trebes are special services and prayers offered at the request of the faithful for various life situations. They help strengthen the soul spiritually, bring personal needs before God, offer thanksgiving for His mercy, and seek His help and guidance.

Please note: Prayer commemorations are not offered for those who are not members of the Orthodox Church, including the unbaptized, non-Orthodox Christians, followers of other religions, suicides, and those who consciously rejected God and the faith.

In our church, the following services and prayer requests are available:

Moleben (Prayer Service)

A short service of thanksgiving or supplication served before the icons of Our Lord, the Mother of God, or the saints.

Requests may include prayers:
 • for health and healing
 • during illness
 • before important life events
 • for travelers
 • and other special needs

Memorial Service (Panikhida / Litia)

A Panikhida or Litia is a special memorial service for the departed, during which the Church prays for the repose of their souls and asks God to grant them mercy and forgiveness.

Memorial services may be requested:
 • on the 9th or 40th day after repose
 • on anniversaries
 • and during Memorial Saturdays

Funeral Service

The Funeral Service is the prayer of the Church for the departed, in which we ask the Lord to forgive their sins and grant them eternal rest in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is one of the most important sacred rites accompanying a Christian’s final farewell on earth.

During the service, the priest offers prayers for the soul of the departed, asking God in His mercy to receive them into His Kingdom, forgive their sins, and grant them peace and comfort. Special hymns and prayers express the soul’s passage from earthly life into eternal life.

House Blessing

The blessing of a home, including the sprinkling of holy water, asking for God’s blessing and protection upon the household and family.

Vehicle Blessing

A brief service for the blessing of a vehicle, with prayers for safety and protection while traveling.

Prayer Requests for the Living and the Departed

Names submitted will be commemorated during church services. Prayer requests may be offered for:

 • the Divine Liturgy (Proskomedia)
 • Molebens
 • Memorial Services (Panikhida)
 • orokoust (forty-day commemoration and reading of the Psalter)

For all questions regarding divine services, sacraments, or to request a Moleben or another special service, please contact the rector of the parish, Archpriest Victor Kramarenko.
