Our church is dedicated to the Holy Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer. Brief Life of the Saint

The Holy Great Martyr George lived at the end of the 3rd and the beginning of the 4th century and served as a soldier in the Roman army. Because of his steadfast faith in Christ, he endured severe tortures and was beheaded by order of Emperor Diocletian. Despite cruel suffering, Saint George courageously confessed his faith, becoming an example of Christian bravery and unwavering devotion to God.

 

In the memory of the faithful, he remains the Victory-Bearer — a defender of the faith, a fighter against evil, and the patron saint of soldiers. His example inspires us to struggle against both inner and outer temptations, and his prayerful intercession strengthens us in the difficulties of life.
